Introduction

The Sessional GP group is designed for any GP who is not a current GP partner. It aims to provide peer group support and learning in an informal environment. It has a cohort of regular members and we are always happy to receive newly qualified GP’s, or any GP new to the area. The group is the sum of all its members, and we have varied backgrounds, experience and working patterns. Our discussions are educational, confidential, useful for appraisals, and fun.

We usually meet once per month in the evenings, at the Swindon Academy, GWH. During COVID, our meetings have moved to on line platforms. We would love to see you at our next meeting. If you are interested, do get in touch through Kim Taylor – [email protected]

Mandeep Bhambra

Sessional GP lead

Mandeep qualified at Leicester University and arrived in Swindon in 2001 to do a 6 month maternity locum and is still here! She has always enjoyed being a locum GP with a portfolio career and loves the challenges of Locum work, and has also gained 9 years experience as a Gastroenterology Speciality Doctor. She started OOH GP work 3 years ago and is also a GP mentor, a GP appraiser for the South West region and more recently a Clinical Advisor with the Performance team at NHSE.

Wajeeha Aslam

She has worked in various salaried GP roles and also has experience working abroad in the Middle East.
